SERENA Gibbs has made her way to Fremantle, with young Docker Tahlia Read landing at Carlton in a direct trade.

Gibbs, a 187cm utility, played six games in four seasons at the Blues, including three in the recent season seven.

Able to play both in defence and attack, she will help to supplement the loss of Janelle Cuthbertson to Port Adelaide and the imminent trade of forward Amy Franklin.

Meanwhile Read is an untried small forward who will return to her home state of Victoria, where she was drafted out of the Calder Cannons last year.

Gibbs has joined Lucy McEvoy and Natalie Plane in leaving Carlton in the off season, while the Blues have welcomed Harriet Cordner from Richmond and confirmed the re-signing of Mimi Hill, Kerryn Peterson and Breann Moody.

The AFLW Trade and Sign period will run until Monday March 20th, with a Delisted Free Agency period to follow.
