SYDNEY Swans veteran Ted Richards will take his career into a 15th season in 2016 after signing a new one-year contract with the club.
The 2012 premiership defender, who played his 250th game against St Kilda in round 22, has been a consistent performer again for coach John Longmire in 2015.
Richards, along with premierships teammates Heath Grundy, Rhyce Shaw and Nick Smith, plus Dane Rampe and Jeremy Laidler, have formed a tight knit back six this season.
The 32 year-old, who started his career at Essendon, says while his body is still feeling good he'll continue with the Swans.

"I still think I'm capable of playing some bloody good football," Richards said.
"Footy comes down to enjoyment, passion and capability. For a lot of guys injuries bring on the end of their careers. Fortunately for me I've played almost 100 consecutive games without missing.
"I knew physically I was capable and it was just a matter of sitting down and working it out."
Richards has played 252 games in total, including 33 with the Bombers, since his debut in 2002.
