PORT Adelaide's belief hasn't been shaken by a string of defeats and injury to key personnel, coach Ken Hinkley says.
The Power, after a club-record winning streak of 13 games, have slipped to four consecutive losses ahead of hosting Greater Western Sydney at Adelaide Oval on Sunday.
Their woes were compounded by the withdrawal of veteran midfielder Travis Boak (illness) from the starting 22 on Saturday ahead of the clash, with Francis Evan coming into the side.
Fourth-placed Port has also been hit by injuries, including to first-choice ruck Scott Lycett (knee), spearhead Charlie Dixon (foot) and fullback Trent McKenzie (knee).
All are expected to be sidelined for the three remaining games of the home-and-away season, while back-up ruck Dante Visentini (thigh) has been ruled out of the clash against the eighth-placed Giants.
The Power have also been trying to cope with illness which has spread through the club in the lead-up to the twilight clash.
"We're dealing with illness around the footy club but we feel we have come out the other end," Hinkley told reporters on Saturday.
Hinkley maintained faith in his squad was justified given their feats this season.
"We still have to maximise the opportunity we have put ourselves in from the first three quarters of the season," he said.
"We are having our little tough trot with the availability of players, it's part of the season.
"This team has dealt with some challenges ... our form suggests we are certainly challenged.
"But I am really optimistic of what this group is capable of - and they believe.
"It's important there be balance - our reviews across the past three weeks have been with great balance and with enough positivity around what we are doing well, while we have not been able to get the result we want.
"You have to help your team believe ... that is our job right now. We believe in them."
Port duo Aliir Aliir and Lachie Jones return from concussion protocols, while utility Miles Bergman has recovered from illness and will face a Giants side scrapping to remain in the top eight.
The Giants have summoned Josh Fahey and Toby McMullin to replace suspended pair Brent Daniels and Toby Bedford.
