The AFL wishes to advise the Tribunal will sit tonight at 6.00pm, Tuesday August 15, after the Western Bulldogs' Jack Redpath chose to contest the charge laid against him by the Match Review Panel from its review of the matches played in round 21 of the 2017 Toyota AFL Premiership Season. AFL Tribunal, Tuesday August 15, 6.00pm:
Jack Redpath, Western Bulldogs, has been charged with striking Phil Davis, GWS Giants, during the first quarter of the Round 21 match between the Western Bulldogs and the GWS Giants played at Etihad Stadium on Friday August 11, 2017.
Based on the available video evidence and a medical report from the GWS Giants Football Club, the incident was assessed as intentional contact with low impact to the head. The incident was classified as a two-match sanction. A poor record over the last two seasons increases the penalty by one-game to a three-match sanction.
Sanctions Accepted:
Toby Greene, GWS Giants, has accepted a $1500 sanction for engaging in misconduct against Luke Dahlhaus, Western Bulldogs, during the third quarter of the Round 21 match between the GWS Giants and the Western Bulldogs, played at Etihad Stadium on Friday August 11, 2017.
Jack Martin, Gold Coast Suns, has accepted a $1000 sanction for engaging in rough conduct against Hugh McCluggage, Brisbane Lions, during the second quarter of the Round 21 match the Gold Coast Suns and the Brisbane Lions, played at the Gabba on Saturday August 12, 2017.
Ben Howlett, Essendon, has accepted a $1000 sanction for engaging in rough conduct against Luke Brown, Adelaide Crows, during the fourth quarter of the Round 21 match between Essendon and the Adelaide Crows, played at Etihad Stadium on Saturday August 12, 2017.
Brayden Preuss, North Melbourne, has accepted a $1500 sanction for striking Conor Glass, Hawthorn, during the third quarter of the Round 20 match between North Melbourne and Hawthorn, played at UTas Stadium on Sunday August 13, 2017.
Ollie Wines, Port Adelaide, has accepted a $1000 sanction for engaging in rough conduct against Tom Langdon, Collingwood, during the first quarter of the Round 21 match between Port Adelaide and Collingwood, played at Adelaide Oval on Sunday August 13, 2017.
