The AFL has today released the names of 55 players invited to attend one of the 2023 AFL State Draft Combines.

The 2023 AFL State Draft Combines will be held in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth on October 8, 14 and 15 respectively.

The state Combines will be held following the national AFL Draft Combine, which will be held in Melbourne from October 6 to 8. A list of 61 players invited to attend the national Combine was announced earlier this month.

All states and territories will be represented across the three state Combines.

Players from New South Wales, ACT, Queensland and Tasmania will attend the Combine in Melbourne, while players from the Northern Territory will attend the Combine in Adelaide.

Selection to attend the AFL State Draft Combines was based on the number of nominations provided by AFL recruiters, with all 18 clubs submitting a list of preferred attendees.

Additional players may be added to the state Combines list ahead of each event.

Details for the state Combines are below:

VICTORIA
Date: Sunday, October 8 (following national Combine)
Venue: Margaret Court Arena
Featuring players from ACT, New South Wales, Queensland, Tasmania and Victoria

SOUTH AUSTRALIA
Date: Saturday, October 14
Venue: Nazareth College
Featuring players South Australia and Northern Territory

WESTERN AUSTRALIA
Date: Sunday, October 15
Venue: Curtin University

AFL Talent Ambassador Kevin Sheehan said: “The AFL State Draft Combines provide another opportunity for players from across Australia to showcase their athletic prowess to AFL clubs ahead of the 2023 AFL Draft.

“There is a long list of players who have participated in state Combines who have gone on to be recruited by AFL clubs and produced fantastic football careers.”
