ST KILDA defender Sam Fisher will miss at least four weeks with a hamstring injury.
He was hurt during Thursday's training session.
Saints football manager Jamie Cox told the club's website that Fisher was expected to return later this season.
"Unfortunately Sam injured his hamstring late in (Thursday's) training session and we expect he will miss around 4-5 weeks," Cox said.
"We will assess his progress after the club's bye (round 13) and will be in a better position to identify a return date then.
"Given Sam's diligence and professionalism with treating injuries in the past, we are confident he can continue to have an impact in the second half of the season."
The 33-year-old has played all but one game this season, missing the round eight against West Coast at Domain Stadium.
The Eagles won that game by 103 points, with key forward Josh Kennedy booting five goals.
Fisher is uncontracted for next year but has stated a desire to play on in 2017.
