The AFL is delighted to announce the three All-Australian umpires who were presented with their prestigious blazers this evening at the AFL Awards.

Robert Findlay (Field Umpire), Matthew Konetschka (Boundary Umpire) and Adam Wojcik (Goal Umpire) were selected by the AFL Umpires Coaches based on their performances across the 2023 Toyota AFL Premiership season.

For Findlay and Konetschka this marks their first All-Australian honour, while for Wojcik, it’s the third time he has taken home a blazer after back-to-back awards in 2015 and 2016.

Robert Findlay – All-Australian Field Umpire

Since starting his journey at the Dandenong Umpires Association in 1993 and making his first senior appearance between Richmond and Melbourne in Round 4 2009, Findlay has gone on to officiate 327 AFL games. This includes AFL Preliminary finals in 2020 & 2021 and emergency umpire for the 2020 AFL Grand Final.

Matthew Konetschka – All-Australian Boundary Umpire

An experienced boundary umpire with five AFL grand final appearances next to his name, Konetschka has been running the boundary line for more than a decade. Making his senior debut at Adelaide Oval in Round 1 2012, the South Australian has officiated 261 games including countless Showdowns as well as the traditional ANZAC Day Clash between Collingwood and Essendon.

Adam Wojcik – All-Australian Goal Umpire

A career spanning more than 25 years, Wojcik is set to umpire his 300th game next season which includes 32 finals and four AFL grand finals. His third All Australian blazer adds to his list of accolades including the Brian Pratt Medallion for most promising goal umpire (2008) and dual Leigh Keen Shield recipient (2016 & 2018) – a prestigious award recognising on-field success and dedication to umpiring.
