Over 400 eager children started their July school holiday fun at the Fremantle Football Club’s School Holiday Clinic on Fremantle Oval this afternoon.
The annual School Holiday clinic provides a terrific opportunity for children aged 6 to 12 to have fun and learn footy skills from their favourite Fremantle players.
The children were taken through the basic fundamentals of Aussie Rules football in a fun environment by Johnny 'The Doc' Docker and the entire Fremantle squad including Justin Longmuir, Jeff Farmer and Robert Warnock.
“It’s great to out here giving back to the community and seeing so many kids here today is fantastic,” said Warnock.
“The guys enjoy being out there with the children as they get so much out of the clinics.
“Hopefully our time with the children today encourages some of them to work hard at their football.”
Children travelled from as far away as Albany to take part in this unique experience with the Fremantle players.
All participants received a team poster, a drink bottle, fruit, Brownes Choc Chills and a Sherrin football, which by the end of the afternoon were covered in autographs!
Most importantly the children kick started their school holidays by burning off plenty of energy on Fremantle Oval today and their parents also enjoyed an afternoon off!
