The Northern Lights’ pre-game brunch on Saturday 14 May will feature a guest speaker from the AFL’s Respect and Responsibility program and raise funds for the White Ribbon Campaign.

Following on from their successful KNOWing Footy night, the Northern Lights’ first pre-game event will be brunch before the North Melbourne vs Melbourne game at Etihad Stadium.

AFL Respect and Responsibility facilitator, Luke Brennan, will give us an insight into the program and the work the AFL is doing with clubs and players as part of it. A percentage of the funds raised on the day will go to White Ribbon.

The White Ribbon Campaign aims to raise awareness among Australian men and boys about the roles they can play to prevent violence against women. The North Melbourne Football Club has nine White Ribbon Ambassadors, including CEO Eugene Arocca and Andrew Swallow, an indication of the commitment of the Club to raising awareness of this issue which affects so many women and their families.

The brunch will be held at Berth restaurant at the Docklands (a short stroll from the ground) for $40 a head for members or $50 for non-members. All members and guests, men and women, are welcome. As a special late mothers’ day gift, bring your mother or daughter for the members’ price of $40.

To RSVP for the event by Wednesday 11 May, contact Kate Nolan on 0423 119 388 or email events@northernlights.org.au
