JIMMY Bartel is on track to become the fourth Geelong player to reach 300 games after signing a new one-year deal with the club.
The triple premiership player is on 283 games and will join club legends Ian Nankervis (325), Sam Newman (300) and recently re-signed defender Corey Enright (309) if he manages 17 games in 2016.
The 31-year-old played just 11 games in 2015 with an early knee injury sidelining him for three months.
But he returned strongly with 41 possessions in round 15 before playing out the season.

He is the third veteran to sign on with the Cats, joining fellow premiership stars Enright and Andrew Mackie after the club farewelled Steve Johnson, Mathew Stokes and James Kelly.
"Jimmy played good consistent football this year and we expect more of the same in 2016," Geelong's general manager of football Steve Hocking said.
"He bounced back from injury well and can play a multitude of roles for us. He has shown that adaptability over the years and continues to do so."
Taken with pick No.8 in the 2001 NAB AFL Draft, Bartel has a long list of achievements including the 2007 Brownlow Medal and 2011 Norm Smith Medal.
