COLLINGWOOD youngster Tom Phillips has retained his title as the Magpies' time-trial king.
The second-year midfielder, 20, once again showed a clean set of heels to previous title-holder Steele Sidebottom in a 2km run at Olympic Park on Wednesday.
Phillips, Sidebottom and Josh Smith broke away from the pack by the halfway mark, before Phillips powered home.
After Phillips' second time-trial victory in as many years, the Pies tweeted: "The longer the distance the happier he is."
The club also revealed that experienced pair Levi Greenwood and Travis Varcoe, along with several others, posted impressive results.
Phillips' effort was further testament to his hunger to become a regular member of the Pies' midfield mix.
The No.58 pick in the 2015 NAB AFL Draft was a surprise packet in 2016, making his AFL debut in the Queen's Birthday clash with Melbourne and appearing in six matches in total.
A hard-running, brave ball-getter, Phillips is best suited to a wing or a flank at this stage of his development, and can also push forward to kick goals.
Big effort by this trio midway.
