SAM WALSH soaked up Carlton's drought-breaking finals win but the star midfielder has declared the Blues still have unfinished business.

In their first final since 2013, Carlton pipped Sydney in a six-point thriller at the MCG on Friday night to send the majority of the 92,026 fans in attendance into delirium.

Walsh said Carlton had enjoyed celebrating the victory over the Swans but had already turned its attention to trying to take down Melbourne in Friday night's semi-final.

“There was definitely an element of enjoyment, particularly after the game in the rooms and being able to see all the families with smiles on faces," the vice-captain said on Sunday.

"It's not the time for reflection just yet. We're in a position where we're able to win a final and learn some pretty valuable lessons to take into next week."

Walsh said coach Michael Voss' attitude towards finals had rubbed off on the players.

"He started off the meeting (after the game) with his message all along, which was, 'We're not just here to make up the numbers in finals'," Walsh said.

"You do that through the actions that we’ve been building throughout three or four months of what we want to stand for."

Carlton will be without Harry McKay against the Demons after the key forward suffered a concussion in the third quarter against Sydney.

The Blues are also facing the possibility of Jack Martin being unavailable after the versatile forward was offered a two-game suspension, which Carlton is challenging, for striking Swans defender Nick Blakey.

"He's just been one of those guys in the air and on the ground, you can just rely on him.

"Hopefully we can get the result we want out of (the Tribunal).

"There'll be a handful, if not more, of guys putting their hand up for (Martin's role if the suspension isn't overturned)."

Since round 14, Carlton has won 10 of its 11 games, with the only blemish coming in the final match of the home and away season against Greater Western Sydney when its finals spot was already secured.
