POWER fans are bullish about their side's chances in 2017.
Delivering their mid-season verdict on Port Adelaide in an AFL.com.au survey, two thirds of fans expected Port to push on from fifth place to earn the double chance.
Ken Hinkley was one of the coaches in the gun after the Power's disappointing 10th-placed finish in 2016, but fans could hardly be happier with his work at the helm, giving him a whopping 95 per cent approval rating.
Midfielder Brad Ebert has lifted his game to a new level in 2017, and has been recognised by the fans as Port's best performer so far.
On the flip side, Aaron Young has yet to recapture his career-best form displayed in 2016, and has been named as a player who has underperformed this season.
Here are the full survey results, as well as a selection of fans' views on Port Adelaide's ideal 2017.
It'll be a good year for the Power if …
Charlie Dixon kicks 60 and Chad Wingard remains in the midfield.
- Caleb Jones, Goolwa SA
We make the top four. Seeing how we have played so far this year, nothing less should be expected.
- Stephen Badger, Adelaide SA
We finish top four, beat Adelaide in round 20 and give the finals a red-hot crack.
- Tom Thurgarland, Richmond
Sam Powell-Pepper wins the Rising Star and we make the prelim.
- Paul Parnis, Coburg Vic
We go deep into September and play in the true Port Adelaide fashion. Tough, hard and unsociable.
- Zebedee Nickolai, Seaview Downs SA
We finish higher than the Crows!
- Nick Whelan, Rose Park SA
