FREMANTLE has secured a huge boost, with midfielder Connor Blakely signing a three-year contract extension to ensure his future with the Dockers until the end of 2022.
Blakely, 23, is one of the club's most promising young ball-winners, but has endured a campaign stunted by injury and missed the first eight matches with a hamstring issue.
However, he has made a strong return and is on track for a fourth successive season of averaging more than 20 disposals per match across both half-back and through the midfield.

"Connor's size, athleticism and running ability, as well his ability to play half-back and also develop as an inside midfielder … we see that as a really strong component to our mix," Fremantle list manager Mark Micallef said on Wednesday.
"Unfortunately, he sustained those injuries over the past 12 months, but his rehab and his approach to his recovery was fantastic.
"He always came in and did the extra work, he got his body 100 per cent right and you can see that with his performance right now.

"We're sure he'll be a very exciting player for Fremantle for a long period of time."
Blakely was recruited to Fremantle with pick No.34 in the 2014 NAB AFL Draft and has played 56 games throughout his first five seasons with the Dockers.
