Here are Josh's answers to this week's top questions:

Hey Josh,
When you are having a form slump, do you have any techniques to get yourself playing well again?  Also, I saw in a previous letter that you and Luke Shuey are good friends.  In your best game, where you kicked 10, Luke also starred.  Does being friends affect the way you play with one another?
Cheers, your #1 fan Conor

Hey mate,
Form slumps are difficult some time to handle, a lot of the time it is in your head, you lose confidence etc. Sometimes not being able to train can take affect! Being prepared for games is the most important thing, making sure that you still get the most out of your week so you feel confident in your preparation and are ready to go for the game. Bootsy and I are good mates, as are we all, and it's a great feeling when yaousee a good mate playing well, it kinda excited you and helps you perform better as well!

Hi Josh,
I love living in Perth, the most isolated city in the world! But I know that you’re from country WA and probably have heaps of friends in Melb from when you played for the Blues. Is it hard being based over here when you’ve got friends and family all over the country? How often do you get to see them?
From Mary

It is sometimes hard, but that's the best thing about technology, they're only a phone call or an email away! Whenever I get over there I try and catch my friends and family as much as I can, but sometimes it's hard because everyone is living their lives.  But it is always good to catch up with old mates!

Hey Josh,
Do you ever think you'll kick 10+ in a game again? :) And also how long do you reckon you can kick? 50-60m? Last one, if you were lining up for goal and you didn't do your little shuffle do you reckon the kick would still be good!?
Tan Nguyen

Hey mate,
It would be nice, but I don't know if I will. I'll just stick to doing my role for the team for now! Yeah maybe 55? Not as big as Lynchy and Shannon Hurn!! It's my last three steps that matter in my run up, if I don't do it I don't think it would matter. But I just do it, so I'll stick to it!!

JK,
This season I’ve noticed that tackling has become a big part of your game, is this just something you’ve become better at naturally or did you make a conscious effort over pre-season to improve? Either way, keep it up. Love your work.
Trent

Hey Trent,
We did a lot of work over the summer with it as a group! Technique and practice has definitely helped, and I've learnt that having a defensive mindset helps massive in tackling, if you wanna tackle someone, you will!

Hi Josh,
You are an awesome player of our game and we love watching you take a specki and kick it through the big sticks. We went to see you at AAMI in West lakes thump the Crows, great game. But, how does all the travelling the Eagles do affect you and your team mates game. I think that the AFL should have a minimum amount of kilometres that each team should travel, if that meant WA, SA QLD has two games in one weekend, and the Vics had to travel a bit more, then so be it. I do not understand how a Vic team can play at the MCG one week as a home game and play there next week as an away game. Love to hear your thoughts on travelling.
Go Eagles, Go Josh
Phil and Vicki

Hey guys,
Travelling does get tiring towards the end of the year, West Coast has done a lot of research into travelling and have a pretty good system going! I speak to a few boys from the Melbourne teams and they can't believe we do it every second week. But like I said, a lot of tesearch has been done around it to prepare us at our best for away games. I suppose we can't complain, out of 25 years west coast have won 3 premierships which is a pretty good record even though we have had to travel every second game!!
