GEELONG has announced the delisting of Nick Bourke, George Burbury, Jordan Schroder, Jackson Sheringham and Jesse Stringer.
 
Four of the five players spent the majority of their time with the Cats on the club's rookie list.
 
The other, Schroder, spent four seasons on the senior list but played only four AFL games.
 
He recently won Geelong's VFL best and fairest, but that wasn't enough to earn him a new contract.
 
Stringer, who played 19 games at the highest level, is expected to attract interest from other clubs.
 

"We thank Nick, George, Jordan, Jackson and Jesse for their contributions to the club and wish them every success," Geelong football manager Neil Balme said.
 
"It is never easy letting players go, but we hope they receive opportunity at other clubs in the future.

"George, Jordan, Jackson and Jesse all received opportunity at AFL level and played in our 2012 VFL premiership."

Josh Cowan and James Toohey have had their contracts extended, while the Cats have upgraded ruckman Mark Blicavs from their rookie list to their senior list.
 
"Mark has shown incredible improvement since first joining us in 2012 and has been a very good contributor to our team in the past two years," Balme said. 

"We believe he still has significant upside and will be able to play a variety of roles."


The Cats have also announced a key change to its off-field personnel, with the club now searching for a new head of high performance.
 
The role had previously been split between Kris Hinck and Chris Spinks, who are both moving on.

"Both Kris and Chris made important contributions to our success over the past four years including the 2011 premiership win," Balme said.

"We continue to strive for improvement in the way we operate and we have decided to revamp that area.
 
"We wish both all the best in both their professional and personal endeavours."
 
The Cats remain in the hunt for Melbourne free agent James Frawley, with further list management decisions expected once Frawley decides where his future lies.
