The AFL is pleased to announce the annual Toyota AFL Grand Final Sprint, presented by Coles, will take place pre-match at the 2023 Toyota AFL Grand Final on Saturday.

Coles will present the race for the first time, with the sprint returning to a traditional 100m straight dash across the hallowed MCG turf.

Participants from each of the 18 AFL clubs will compete in two heats to determine the top eight fastest players, before running in the Final race to see which player will be crowned the quickest in the league.

AFL Executive General Manager Customer and Commercial, Kylie Rogers said the Coles Pre-Game Sprint is a much-loved tradition in September.

"While Collingwood and Brisbane battle it out for premiership glory on Saturday, the Coles Pre-Game sprint allows fans of all 18 AFL clubs to get behind their team on Grand Final day as they fight to be the first to cross the finish line," Ms Rogers said.

"The AFL is thrilled to have our valued partner Coles come on board and support the sprint this year and we can't wait to see who will be crowned this year's 100m champion."

In honour of this year's sprint winner, Coles will make a $5,000 donation to Ladder, an organisation providing young people mentoring and support through the Ladder Program.

The Heats will take place approx 12:15pm, with the Final race to commence at 12:38pm.
