ADELAIDE best and fairest winner Richard Douglas will return for the Crows against Hawthorn on Thursday night, after missing six weeks with a foot injury.

Douglas, who signed a new three-year deal this week to remain with the club through to the end of 2018, comes into the Crows' line-up replacing Mitch Grigg, who will miss with an ankle injury.

Douglas has been out since suffering a strain to his plantar fascia against Port Adelaide in round five, which was expected to sideline him for four-to-six weeks. He is Adelaide's only inclusion.

The Hawks have also made just one change for the clash at Adelaide Oval, with small forward Paul Puopolo replacing Angus Litherland, who has been dropped.

Puopolo has missed the past two weeks with a foot injury he sustained against Gold Coast in round nine.

But the Hawks won't welcome back premiership hero Will Langford, despite the midfielder returning from a calf injury through the VFL a fortnight ago before the club's bye.

Langford was not selected in Hawthorn's final team, while defender Grant Birchall will again miss with a persistent ankle injury.

Langford is one of three emergencies for the Hawks.

Both sides enter the game with six wins and four losses after having the bye last weekend.
