• Who's hanging up the boots? Keep track of 2017's retirements and delistings
ADELAIDE has delisted clever forward Troy Menzel and midfielder Dean Gore as it begins to reshape its list in the wake of its Grand Final loss to Richmond.
Menzel, the younger brother of Geelong's Daniel, played just four matches in two seasons at West Lakes – all of them coming in 2017 –after being traded from Carlton at the end of the 2015 season.
The 23-year-old also played 40 matches for Carlton between 2013 and 2015.
Gore did not manage to play a senior match after being part of the deal that saw Cats superstar Patrick Dangerfield head home and play for Geelong.
The Cats also gave up pick No.9 and No.28 in the 2015 NAB AFL Draft to land Dangerfield.
Veteran midfielder Scott Thompson has retired and Sam Shaw officially drops off the Crows' rookie list after retiring in 2016.
Crows football manager Brett Burton thanked Menzel and Gore for their service.
"This is always a difficult time of year in the AFL and these decisions are certainly not taken lightly,” Burton said.
"Troy and Dean both bought in to our team-first culture and can be proud of the way they have carried themselves.
"We wish them all the very best for the future."
Adelaide also looks set to lose star defender Jake Lever and speedster Charlie Cameron, who have requested trades to Melbourne and the Brisbane Lions respectively.
