WEST Coast has secured its long-term home after signing a 99-year lease deal to establish a permanent training facility at Lathlain Park, just seven kilometres east of Perth's CBD.

The Eagles had previously announced their plans to build a $60 million state-of-the-art training and administration base at Lathlain Park by 2017 ahead of the completion of WA's new football stadium at Burswood in March 2018.

On Wednesday, Eagles chief executive Trevor Nisbett and Victoria Park mayor Trevor Vaughan signed the 99-year lease deal, with an initial lease of 50 years plus an option for a further 49.

"It started probably five years ago," Nisbett said.

"To be able to move to this precinct for 99 years is going to be an outstanding outcome for our club.

"It guarantees the future of our football club because it wasn't guaranteed being based where we are at the present stage.

"The platform of the facility is going to be based around community. Albeit it's going to allow us to have some of the best training facilities in the country, if not the southern hemisphere."

The club is currently housed at Patersons Stadium however the facilities and the stadium itself are well outdated.

The Eagles' proposed training base at Lathlain Park would feature two ovals, one with a running track around the perimeter.

It will have indoor and outdoor training facilities for the club but will also feature a cafe, museum, BBQ areas, and playground and walk trails that will be accessible to the local community.
