Kangaroos CEO Rick Aylett today confirmed that the Arden Street Redevelopment will go ahead despite reports to the contrary.
The $7 million project is a joint venture between the Kangaroos, the AFL, Melbourne City Council and the State Government.
“All the stakeholders are right behind this project and a total of $7 million has already been committed” Aylett said.
“The redevelopment will provide wonderful facilities for our club and the local community and we are fine-tuning the plans to get that balance right. I am confident this will be achieved shortly.”
The redevelopment will encompass a state-of-the-art training and administration base for the Kangaroos and will feature a vibrant recreational and community complex.
The first tangible steps in the redevelopment took place several weeks ago when demolition of the grandstand took place.
“We are committed to developing Arden Street as part of the long term future of the North Melbourne Football Club” Aylett said.
