The wait is almost over for four of North Melbourne's best with the AFL set to announce the All Australian Team at a function in Melbourne on Monday night.

Selectors were asked to name the best 40 players of the season in the squad at the conclusion of the Premiership Season but the final team of 22, is selected to best fit team balance as if to play a match.

Todd Goldstein, Drew Petrie, Daniel Wells and Andrew Swallow have been named in the group of 40 with none ever receiving All Australian selection.

The selection panel includes Andrew Demetriou (chairman), Adrian Anderson, Kevin Bartlett, Luke Darcy, Danny Frawley, Glen Jakovich, Leigh Matthews and Mark Ricciuto.

Todd Goldstein, North Melbourne. Never Previously selected. 21 games in 2011. 151 kicks, 73 marks, 137 handballs, averaging 7.2 kicks, 3.5 marks, 659 handballs. 13 Goals Six Behinds. 741 hits outs averaging 35.3 per game. 84 Clearances, 52 Inside 50m, 19 Rebound 50m.
