NAB League Boys Round 16 is the second-last round of the 2019 home-and-away season before Wildcard Round and the finals. See all the team line-ups for this weekend here.
The Dandenong Stingrays have brought in Under-18 All Australian key defender Sam De Koning after one week out as they attempt to snap a six-match losing streak against the ladder-leading Eastern Ranges on Saturday. The Ranges, however, welcome back the likes of skipper James Ross and 19-year-old ruck Riley Smith, who returns following four impressive games for Collingwood’s VFL team.
Meanwhile, the sixth-placed Western Jets gain some key players for a crucial match against the fourth-placed Oakleigh Chargers on Saturday, with co-captain Lucas Rocci, 19-year-old key forward Aaron Clarke and talented bottom-ager Eddie Ford among their ins.
The Geelong Falcons will be boosted in their quest for a second win of the season – against the Tasmania Devils on Saturday – by the return of top-ager Jay Dahlhaus from a serious knee injury suffered in Round 2.
Finally, several Vic Country representatives in the recent NAB AFL Under-16 Championships are in line to debut in the GWV Rebels’ clash with the Bendigo Pioneers on Sunday. Charlie Molan – brother of 2019 NAB AFL Women’s Draft prospect Sophie Molan – will appear as GWV’s 23rd player, while twins Cooper Hamilton and Hugh Hamilton look set to line-up for the Pioneers.
The Calder Cannons, Gippsland Power, Murray Bushrangers, Northern Knights and Sandringham Dragons all have the bye in Round 16.
