Retired Clark off Dees' list after confidential agreement with club
Club and former forward Mitch Clark come to terms after retirement in April
MITCH Clark's departure from Melbourne has been made official, with the two parties agreeing to terms relating to his retirement.
It means Clark will be removed from the club's list and none of his entitlements will be included in the Demons' 2015 salary cap.
Melbourne football manager Josh Mahoney confirmed arrangements had been made, but they would remain confidential.
"We've finalised an agreement between Mitch Clark and Melbourne football club," Mahoney told AFL.com.au.
"The details of the agreement will remain confidential. What it does mean however is that Mitch will no longer be on our list and [therefore] will not be on our long-term injury list."
The 26-year-old Clark retired from playing in April after being diagnosed with clinical depression. He made the decision to retire in the interests of his health.
After recovering from his Lisfranc foot injury (he played just four games in 2013), Clark had a series of soft tissue problems, which hampered his return.
He was originally contracted until the end of 2015, but both parties have worked in good faith to reach agreement.
Clark visited Melbourne on Thursday and spoke to former teammates at training.
Hogan, who has not played this season due to a back injury, will return to Perth for a couple of weeks as he rests before resuming his active rehabilitation.
The club is planning a program for Hogan that will include working with his forward line coach Daniel MacPherson while sidelined.
Melbourne has not set a deadline on Hogan's return, but remain confident he will make a full recovery.
Club coach Paul Roos told melbournefc.com.au the Demons were taking a conservative approach.
"He's got 12 to 15 years of his career in front of him, hopefully, so we've got to be conservative," Roos said.
"(We have to) look after him and make sure he gets right."
