Mr Fantasy loves the dust ups between Collingwood and Carlton, but what will it mean for your AFL Fantasy team?
DON'T you just love the significant amount of revulsion between Carlton and Collingwood fans?
Friday night's game will have extra zing seeing the position of both sides on the ladder after round 14, and that just means that some of the most boisterous fans will bring their A-game to the Melbourne Cricket Ground come 7.50pm.
I've witnessed some of the best sledges and mini bust-ups when the Blues face the Pies and I urge everybody to get to the venue, sit back and enjoy.
I think it is so much better when two parties openly admit a dislike for one another.
Two friends of mine from different walks of life aren't backwards in coming forwards when describing their distaste for each other.
On face value, you'd think my friends would get along as they are pretty much into the same things, but they've been somewhat angry at each other since the beginning.
At least Carlton and Collingwood have their reasons for despising each other.
Controversial Grand Finals, surprise defections and huge fallouts have been bubbling away for decades, and Friday night adds yet another chapter.
Both teams go into the match without some guys who fare well in AFL Fantasy circles against tonight's opponents.
The Pies will be without Harry O'Brien and Quinten Lynch, two guys who finished in Collingwood's top 10 point scorers when they met the Blues in round two.
Carlton also has its issues, with only one player managing to reach triple figures when the Blues met the Pies earlier in the year. That player was Jeff Garlett, an elusive small forward who is desperately out of form, scoring more than 80 just once in his past six matches.
Usually, past Dream Team scores offer a guide as to who may win, but this is one of the most closely predicted matches of the season.
It may come down to the influence of each side's AFL Fantasy stars. Dane Swan averages almost 110 against the Blues, while champ Chris Judd scores around 100 every time he takes on the black and white.
Let the anger begin and I wish you all a great round of Dream Teaming.
Mr Fantasy's trade recommendations
Ins: Cyril Rioli (Hawthorn), Brad McKenzie (North Melbourne)
He's back! Rioli - one of the better small forwards in the AFL – looks a very nice replacement for Geelong's Steve Johnson, who will serve another week of suspension, therefore missing Saturday night's blockbuster game. McKenzie doesn't seem to have an issue finding the footy, and has impressed in his two matches to date.
Outs: Jarrad Waite (Carlton), Jeff Garlett (Carlton)
Waite's hot and cold antics can wear thin very quickly with Dream Teamers, and his efforts in the past fortnight (two scores below 50) would have been a hard pill to swallow. Inconsistency is not what you need heading into the finals. Teammate Garlett started the year well enough, but has been disappointing of late. I'd look elsewhere.
