PORT Adelaide defender Tom Jonas is set to become a one-club player after signing a three-year contract extension.
The 27-year-old was already contracted for next year and his recommitment ties him to Port until the end of 2022.
The former rookie, who made his AFL debut in 2011, has played 121 games and is a member of the Power's leadership group.
CLUB LISTS COMPARED Oldest? Youngest? Most experienced?
A Norwood product, Jonas finished equal-second in Port Adelaide's best and fairest this year after placing third last year. He has also won the Power's best team man award the past two seasons.
"You do pinch yourself sometimes for where you've been and where we are at now as a club. I'm extremely grateful to the club for showing so much faith in me throughout my footy journey," Jonas said.
"I'm proud to say that I've been part of it and I'm looking forward to continuing to work hard and gearing up for a new campaign."
FULL FIXTURE Every round, every game
That new campaign, and the challenge of lifting the Power back into the finals, is a great motivating factor.
"It's hugely exciting what we've got at our fingertips," Jonas said.
"We've got 20 players that are new to the group in the last two years, we've got some high draft picks and at the same time we've got a good crop of current players that are playing some good footy and are right in the peak of their footy powers, so we're really excited with what we can achieve.
"We've also got some new coaches with a lot of bright ideas, so the only way is up for us."

Port Adelaide football manager Chris Davies was pleased to secure the selfless leader for the long term.
"Tom is a real success story for the rookie list and an example of how persistence and hard work can pay off," he said.
"He is a fearless player and a fantastic person and, because of that, a popular member of the playing group. Tom is a strong leader and an important part of our backline and we couldn't be more pleased to have him for an extra three seasons."
The Power have also recently re-signed club champion Justin Westhoff, Jarrod Lienert, Joe Atley, Dan Houston and Dougal Howard.
