A CAR belonging to GWS star Steve Johnson has been involved in a high-speed pursuit across Sydney that only came to an end after it was rammed by a police vehicle.
Officers gave chase after spotting the stolen Ford Falcon on the Princes Highway at Carlton, in southern Sydney, about 7.15am Saturday, but had to pull back due to safety concerns.
The vehicle was then seen speeding along Henry Lawson Drive at Milperra, in Sydney's south-west, about fifteen minutes later. But it wasn't until it reached Riverwood that they were able to bring it to a stop.
A small brick wall of a property on Belmore Road was damaged in the chaos, as stunned residents emerged to investigate the commotion.
"Dead set, I thought I was at Bathurst speedway because of the noise and the sound," one witness told the Nine Network.
Johnson, a 33-year-old forward for the GWS Giants, took to Twitter on Friday to say his car had been stolen. He joked that his main concern was a set of golf clubs in the boot.
My reaction when I realised my had been stolen this morning... "oh NO, my golf clubs were in the boot" #newcar #newclubs #notallbad

The 17-year-old who was allegedly behind the wheel ran from the scene, along with two passengers.
The teenager was arrested a short time later after being tracked by the dog squad.
He was taken to St George Hospital for minor injuries before being questioned at a local police station.
Johnson's golf clubs were found untouched in the boot.
