GEELONG expects ruckman Rhys Stanley to return from an adductor issue for Friday night's heavyweight clash with Richmond, and believe his problem won't be ongoing.
Stanley, 28, was a late out from Cats side that beat Sydney last Saturday. He was withdrawn in the same circumstances in round nine when Geelong defeated the Western Bulldogs.
However, coach Chris Scott told reporters on Tuesday they were different cases.
"It was a small muscle in the adductor initially, and this is more adductor longus, the main muscle in that area, but both were very, very minor and both acute," Scott said.
"It's something we don't think will come up again once he recovers from this issue."

That rehab period is expected to be swift.
"We're really confident it's just a week," Stanley said.
"I'm aware that we said that with the previous one, although it was a week, and it looks like it was a reoccurrence. It's not, we're told. They're very confident down there in our medical department it's a slightly different issue but very minor again."

A couple set to be waiting in the wings for longer are hard nut Scott Selwood and youngster Quinton Narkle, with both having had hamstring issues.
Selwood, 29, has lined up in five straight VFL games but a recall appears some time away.

Narkle faces a similar situation, despite Scott describing his injury as minor.
"That (Narkle) one is a recurrence, so we'll be a bit more cautious there," Scott said.
"It's not dissimilar to the Scott Selwood situation in that he had a hamstring and then a recurrence, so his progression back to AFL footy is going to be a lot slower than it would have been otherwise.
"Even though he's back playing and performing pretty well, he's a little bit off being in the frame for AFL selection because we just want to be really sure that his body's going to stand up."
