THE START of Saturday's match between the Sydney Swans and West Coast was delayed by 10 minutes after a paratrooper crashed heavily in a frightening incident before the game.
Paramedics attended the man in the centre square at the SCG for several minutes before he was stretchered from the ground on a medical cart and taken to hospital by ambulance.
The Royal Australian Navy Red Beret, who was taking part in an Anzac Day ceremony pre-match, has a suspected broken pelvis.
The delay means that this evening's match between Gold Coast and North Melbourne has also been pushed back by five minutes so it doesn't overlap with the Swans-Eagles clash.

Sky diver still on the ground, hope he's ok... crowd knew straight away he was in trouble, cheers quickly ceased when he landed heavily

Sky diver is on the medi-cart getting applause as he leaves ground... seems ok no real panic by his fellow divers
