A STANDOUT performance from Jordan Gysberts in Werribee's 85-point Foxtel Cup belting of Queanbeyan on Tuesday night is sure to attract the eye of North Melbourne selectors.

In a week where the Roos will be looking to replace suspended midfielder Jack Ziebell (and possibly others), the former Demon was in super touch as Werribee set about demolishing Queanbeyan at Etihad Stadium.

Werribee – the Roos' VFL affiliate and last year's Foxtel Cup grand finalist – had seven North Melbourne players in the team, and the gulf in class showed.

Gysberts, Will Sierakowski and Taylor Hine – North's three emergencies from Sunday's heartbreaking loss to Adelaide – led the way.

Werribee asserted its dominance on the contest early, demonstrating its immense tackling pressure and speedy transition through the middle of the ground.

Queanbeyan responded in the second term, but were unable to maintain the effort throughout match, conceding seven goals in the final quarter.

Gysberts, who switched clubs from Melbourne during last year's trade period, was industrious through the midfield, gathering 22 disposals, four clearances and four inside-50s - mostly before three-quarter time.

Sierakowski did his chances of a recall no harm either, capitalising on Queanbeyan's hurried forward-50 entries.

His hard running and sharp rebounding out of defence allowed him to finish the game with 19 disposals and two goals, including a classy snap in the final quarter.

Forward-turned-defender Ayden Kennedy was prominent at centre-half back, using his speed to his advantage and demonstrating impressive mobility.

Swingman Ben Brown was equally as impressive, reading the play well out of defence and going forward to kick three goals.

Agile forward Mason Wood, the Kangaroos' second pick in last year's draft, presented well and showcased his clean hands, though struggled for accuracy in front of goal finishing with 0.5.

Utility Taylor Hine finished with 17 disposals at 88 per cent efficiency and was tenacious when playing a variety of defensive roles.

For Queanbeyan, Kaine Stevens, who last year received the Alex Jesaulenko Medal for winning the club's best and fairest award, demonstrated his class with 16 disposals and two goals.

Skipper Toby Conroy was relentless around stoppages, while player-coach Kade Klemke worked tirelessly for the entire game.

Werribee will play East Fremantle in the first semi-final of the Foxtel Cup on Tuesday, July 9.
