THE DECISION to play on in 2016 could see triple Geelong premiership defender Corey Enright become the Cats' games record holder.
The 33-year-old has taken the Cats up on their offer of a one-year contract, which will see him add to his 309 AFL games.
The Cats' current games holder is Ian Nankervis, who played 325 between 1967 and 1983.
The club announced Enright's decision to play another season on Friday, following the final games of Steve Johnson, James Kelly and Mathew Stokes on Saturday last week.

"The club made me an offer earlier in the year but I wanted to wait until the end of the season before making a decision," Enright said.
"My body feels good and the coaches are happy with the way I am playing and I am keen to go on.
"It was disappointing to miss the finals this year but I think we have a good group of players and we will be back contending next season.
"I will take some time to freshen up and I'm looking forward to getting back for pre-season in November."

Enright played 21 games this season and was second at the club for disposals behind Joel Selwood while leading the team for rebounds with 88 from Harry Taylor (70).
He also spent the second most minutes on the ground behind Taylor and was second – again after Taylor – at the Cats for marks.
The No.47 selection from the 1999 draft pool and five-time All Australian will need to play at least 17 games to break Nankervis' record next season.
"This is a decision that we all worked through and we are thrilled Corey has accepted our offer to continue playing," Geelong's football manager Steve Hocking said.
"Corey is a much respected member of our club both internally and by our supporters.
"He is one of our key leaders and he continued to play good and consistent footy through this season.
"In the end his form, desire and leadership remains and we expect that to serve us well in 2016."
