SYDNEY Swans ruckman Sam Naismith has escaped suspension for a dangerous tackle and will be available for the club's qualifying final against Greater Western Sydney.

Naismith was charged with rough conduct for dumping Tiger Bachar Houli in a dangerous tackle on Saturday, but he has accepted a $1000 fine after it was graded as careless conduct with medium impact to the body.

Retiring Brisbane Lions veteran Daniel Merrett leaves the game with a two-match suspension after being charged for a crude forearm strike on St Kilda defender Shane Savage.   

In findings that affect top-eight teams, West Coast defender Sharrod Wellingham has escaped suspension for a high bump on Adelaide's Mitch McGovern, with the Match Review Panel clearing the Eagle of any wrongdoing.

The Panel deemed Wellingham was contesting the ball when it bounced at his feet and had no realistic alternative, keeping him available for the Eagles' elimination final against the Western Bulldogs.  

Hawthorn defender Josh Gibson was also scrutinised for making high contact to Collingwood midfielder Levi Greenwood in an aerial contest.

The MRP described contact as "grazing" and said the key Hawk had "his eyes on the ball at all times and is committed in the air to the contest, with contact inevitable".

"It was a genuine attempt to spoil and no further action was taken," the Panel said in its findings.

Fremantle midfielder Matt de Boer accepted a $1000 fine for striking Western Bulldogs star Marcus Bontempelli.

The incident was assessed as careless conduct with low impact to the head.

Carlton young gun Jacob Weitering accepted $1000 fine for intentionally striking Essendon's Kyle Langford to the body. 

Greater Western Sydney forward Devon Smith and North Melbourne's Lindsay Thomas accepted $1000 fines for wrestling each other.
