HAWTHORN has re-signed another of its stars, with wingman Isaac Smith committing to the club until the end of 2020.
It is only a two-year extension, after Smith penned a deal in September last year to see him contracted until the end of 2018.
The re-signing of players despite them already being contracted for multiple years at the Hawks also occurred last week – Cyril Rioli added an extra year on to his deal to see him also tied to the club until the end of 2020.
Smith is a member of the leadership group and was part of the three-peat of premierships in 2013-15.
He turns 28 next week, meaning he will be 31 by the time his contract expires.
The Hawks traded 2008 premiership captain Sam Mitchell to West Coast and 2014 best and fairest Jordan Lewis to Melbourne in October.
