The AFL and its official energy partner, Origin, have announced an initiative that sees fans receive a 2013 AFL club membership to their nominated AFL club valued at up to $200 when they switch their energy to Origin.
The offer also applies to existing 2013 AFL and AFL club members who will receive a $200 reimbursement as customers switching their energy to Origin.
As an initiative focused on increasing AFL club membership numbers throughout the competition, the Origin Big Kick In is a first for Australian sport.
Both clubs and Australian football fans will reap significant benefits from this groundbreaking initiative as funds are directly reinvested into the game.
AFL Chief Executive Officer, Andrew Demetriou, said: "The Origin Big Kick In initiative is an innovative program built around a cornerstone of our game, club members.
"Through this groundbreaking initiative with Origin we are seeking to make AFL club memberships more affordable which benefits both our clubs and our fans. Thanks to this promotion there really is no excuse for lapsed club members not to get behind their club and support their team.
"Memberships are the lifeblood of our clubs and provide the financial security to develop the many facets of elite level AFL clubs.
"This is an innovative promotion that seeks to benefit every one of our 18 clubs and the health of the game more broadly."
Origin Executive General Manager, Mr Frank Calabria, said: "The Origin Big Kick In is the most significant club membership deal ever offered and allows fans to experience the excitement and thrill of an AFL game in person while demonstrating their passion for their team.

In addition to the club membership, 20 lucky Origin Big Kick-In customers in Victoria and South Australia will win a double pass to 2013 Toyota AFL Grand Final at the MCG in September.
This season, Origin will also continue its strong community support of Australian football through a range of grassroots programs, local club support and 2013 Toyota AFL Grand Final activities.
