Iconic South Australian bakery Balfours has signed a three-year partnership to become the naming rights sponsor of the Showdown matches played between the Adelaide and Port Adelaide Football Clubs, it was announced today.

Adelaide Crows CEO Steven Trigg said: “To have an iconic South Australian company like Balfours support both South Australian clubs in their quest to reinvigorate the Showdown brand for the next three years, is an excellent outcome for both clubs, and importantly for the South Australian public.”

Power CEO John James said: “Balfours’ sponsorship of the Showdowns once again reaffirms their support of football in this state, as well as providing many opportunities to take the great rivalry generated amongst the club supporters to new levels.”

Balfours General Manager Darryl Pritchard said: “Balfours is thrilled to be supporting Showdown. These games between the Crows and Power are always a favourite for the fans, just as our Balfours bakery products are with so many South Australians.”

Key aspects of the partnership that will help get loyal supporters closer to the action include:

· A Power and a Crows supporter, who buys a Balfours product pre-game, will be selected from the crowd to vote on the Balfours Showdown Medal with selected media representatives and past players from both clubs.
· Balfours will be giving away 200 tickets to the game, as well as exclusive chances for both Power and Crows fans to go into their club’s rooms before and after the game.
· Two lucky fans will win the chance to toss the coin before the game.
· Other promotions will be conducted pre-game and at the various breaks in play.

The three CEOs announced the partnership at AAMI Stadium today (March 31) surrounded by an array of Balfours favourite products including the iconic Frog Cake and Balfours Showdown donuts.
