Collingwood’s membership department will reveal its updated 2011 membership counter tomorrow morning on Collingwoodfc.com.au.

Last week the club “froze” the number on 56,816 in a bid to sign the member who would break last year’s all-time AFL membership record of 58,249 set by the Magpies.

Ruckman Darren Jolly helped promote the drive with the big man getting on the phones and sending out letters to the Magpie Army Reserve.

The club can confirm that 11-year-old Melody Jones was the record-breaking member.  Melody and her family attended last Friday night’s NAB Cup grand final win and was featured on Channel Seven’s coverage.

Melody was the winner of the $2,5000 Superstore shopping spree that she can share (if they are lucky) with her father Robert, mother Leslea and sister Miranda.

Congratulations to the Jones family.

The club will publish its updated Magpie Army count tomorrow morning.
