ST KILDA has slashed ticket prices in an attempt to boost the attendance at Friday night's clash with Carlton at Etihad Stadium.
It's the first of back-to-back Friday night games for the struggling Saints, with a contest against reigning premiers Richmond coming up next week.
Adult general admission tickets will be reduced from $25 to $13 during a sale period beginning on Thursday morning.
The Saints are using the AFL's dynamic ticketing system to drop the prices of premium tickets behind the goals on level two from $75 to $45.
The club will also open extra bays for general admission members to sit on level one rather than level three.
"While our performances have lifted in the past few weeks, we acknowledge that the first half of the season was disheartening for our supporters," St Kilda chief executive Matt Finnis told News Corp.
"That said, we can't escape the important role they will play in helping us turn things around.
"The way our new Etihad Stadium deal is structured means that even small increases in crowd attendance translates into significant financial uplift.
"Every supporter who attends our games in the final seven rounds will have a big impact on our club."
The Saints are 15th on the ladder with three wins and 11 losses while the Blues are on track for the worst season in their history, having registered just one win so far this season.
