IN THE final match of round nine, an in-form Adelaide welcomes an injury-hit Brisbane to Adelaide Oval on Sunday afternoon.
Adelaide (3-5) brushed aside heated rivals Port Adelaide in the Showdown to make it three wins from its past four matches and is now within touching distance of the top eight.
CROWS v LIONS Follow it LIVE
The 12th-placed Crows have an opportunity to prove their finals credentials in back-to-back clashes with last year's Grand Finalists.
Brisbane (3-5) made light work of Gold Coast with a courageous display in the QClash, which included more than just glimpses of its best, even as four key players were injured on the way to the win.
The Lions' depth looks set to be stretched over the coming weeks but a victory on the road over the resurgent Crows would remind the competition that last year's runner-up remains a familiar threat.
While the Crows are unchanged, the injury-hit Lions have added Shadeau Brain for his AFL debut (he will start as the sub) and recalled Callum Ah Chee and Jaxon Prior, with Darcy Gardiner, Lincoln McCarthy and Noah Answerth out injured.
Luke Nankervis is Adelaide's sub.
