Matt de Boer – 6
The Giants tagger kept Dustin Martin quiet early when he was in the midfield before shifting to Dion Prestia midway through the first quarter. Nullified Prestia's influence after he got away to a brilliant start.
Jeremy Cameron – 5
Did his best to try and impact the game, but the Giants key forward didn't receive great service from his midfielders. Was forced to lead up the ground to get his touches.

Aidan Corr – 6
Held his own when given the difficult job of containing Tigers spearhead Tom Lynch, keeping the gun forward to two goals. A commendable performance given the magnitude of the task.

Brent Daniels – 5
It was a difficult day for the small forward, who came off second-best in a couple of big collisions. Kept putting his body on the line to attempt the lock the ball in the forward half of the ground.
Phil Davis – 2
The Giants captain was noticeably hampered by a calf injury that required a fitness test an hour before the game. Struggled to have any pace off the mark when lined up against Jack Riewoldt.

Jeremy Finlayson – 1
The athletic forward was hardly sighted and couldn't get into the game, ending it with just one possession. Didn't give his midfielders enough of an option when they were looking for a forward target.
Toby Greene – 6
Returning from suspension, the feisty Greene was roundly booed every time he touched the ball by the Tigers army. Found a bit of ball through the midfield, but didn't pose much of a threat when he played forward.
Nick Haynes – 7
A shining light in defence with his outstanding intercept marking amid a barrage of Tiger forward entries. Did everything he could to keep the Tigers at bay, but didn't have enough help.

Harry Himmelberg – 5
The key forward continued his quiet finals series, kicking a solitary goal. Like Cameron, was forced to provide contests higher up the ground to get his hands on the ball.
Jacob Hopper – 6
Was serviceable through the midfield and got through plenty of defensive work, laying nine tackles. Kicked a goal late in the third quarter, ending a run of 11 straight majors from the Tigers.
Josh Kelly – 4
The gun midfielder couldn't get into the game, finishing with just 15 disposals. It was a disappointing performance for a player who is capable of breaking a game open with his work around stoppages and outside run.

Adam Kennedy – 4
Another of the Giants who didn't have a big impact, picking up just the 11 touches playing across half back and on a wing.
Daniel Lloyd – 5
Had a solid game across half-forward, collecting 15 disposals, including eight contested possessions. Played his role, but gave away a couple of free kicks.
Shane Mumford – 3
The veteran ruckman was well beaten by the Tigers duo of Toby Nankervis and Ivan Soldo. Mumford tried hard across the ground, picking up eight contested possessions, in what could be the final game of his career.
Harry Perryman – 6
Battled hard through the midfield and on a wing, racking up 21 disposals, including eight contested possessions. Played his role for the side.
Sam Reid – 4
Had a tough day in defence, committing a couple of uncharacteristic errors with his disposal. Under constant pressure as the Tigers midfielders gave their forwards plenty of quality service.
Heath Shaw – 7
A solid game for the veteran defender, picking up 29 disposals. Had the unenviable task of going one-on-one with Norm Smith Medallist Dustin Martin when he played as the deepest forward. Beaten a couple of times, but never gave up.
Tim Taranto – 8
The Giants' best player on the ground, narrowly in front of Haynes. Worked tirelessly at the coalface, picking up 15 contested possessions out of his 30 disposals. A midfielder with huge upside.

Sam Taylor – 6
The young key defender started the game strongly with a couple of important intercept marks. Spent some time on Martin and also Tom Lynch. Dropped off in the second half, but he wasn't alone in that regard.
Adam Tomlinson – 5
Had a solid game on the wing without tearing the house down, finishing with 17 touches. Took a nice intercept mark in the second quarter.
Lachie Whitfield – 4
A quiet game for the damaging midfielder, who collected just 14 disposals. Came into the game under an injury cloud having missed the preliminary final after appendix surgery.
Zac Williams – 6
Was damaging at times through the midfield, but didn't have a major impact despite picking up 21 touches. Hobbled off the ground with a leg injury late in the third quarter.
