What the club says "We're pleased because we rated Christian Salem who has got some elite ability and will add to our midfield mix. Jay Kennedy Harris fulfils a need for us with speed and endurance, he has really good character and is a nice kid. On that alone we are rapt to get him into our footy club. Jayden Hunt came through school footy [at Brighton Grammar] with Josh Kelly and Salem and was right up with them as a player when he was much younger early but they grew and he didn't and he dropped off until he grew again. He did some eye-catching things in school games this year. - Jason Taylor, Melbourne's National Recruiting Manager
"He will add a different mix to our midfield and he does have an ability to play forward, and we think back as well. He adds some class and some aggression" Jason Taylor
Pick 40 – Jay Kennedy Harris
"We're rapt to get him at 40. We haven't really got his type of player [who is a small forward]. He not only brings speed and endurance, he's got a real appetite to run and tackle." Jason Taylor
Pick 57 – Jayden Hunt
"He played some reasonable school footy for Brighton Grammar and did some eye-catching things and then again in the 'Young Guns game' [a representative game for draft hopefuls]. He is speculative but we did some research and we think there is enough there. He is genuinely quick, and could be a running half-back or winger. He hasn't been as exposed to footy as the likes of the Christian Salem and Josh Kelly, so he will take time but he will be supported."
