One of Queensland's best known businessmen, Bank of Queensland chief David Liddy was appointed to the Board on 20 October 2003. His credentials for the role are impeccable. The 55 year-old has been the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Bank of Queensland since April 2001, and since then the bank has recorded a succession of record half-year and full-year profits, and significantly increased its market capitalisation and total assets. David has more than 37 years experience in banking, including international postings in both London and Hong Kong with his employer of 33 years Westpac. He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Banking and Finance, a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Associate of the Securities Institute and sits on the Australian Banker’s Association Council. David is also a Board Member of the Brisbane Lions Foundation, a Trustee of the Queensland Museum Foundation and a Councillor of the Australian Business Arts Foundation. David obtained a Master of Business Administration at Macquarie University and completed an Executive Management Program at Michigan University in the USA. Married to Chris, David has three children and is a proud grandfather of two.
