ADELAIDE isn't shifting its focus to a potential top-four finish despite another strong win over a finals contender, coach Don Pyke says.
The Crows backed up their sensational round 12 win over West Coast with a 33-point victory against North Melbourne on Thursday night, in which they kicked 28 behinds.
The result pushes the Crows up sixth spot – just a game behind the top four sides.
But although he said his side was growing in belief each week, Pyke hosed down suggestions the Crows would begin to eye off a second chance in the finals.
"We're building, we've played some good, strong footy and tonight's another step forward for us," Pyke said.
"I think we're building some belief and some real confidence within the group.
"The next target for us is to try and put ourselves in a spot to qualify for finals and it really is week to week.
"There's no easy games in this comp and I've learnt that very quickly – but that said, the guys are in a good space."
The Crows' 28 behinds against North were the most they have scored in a match.

While the forecasted downpour never eventuated, a day of heavy rain made for a slippery Adelaide Oval, which undoubtedly hampered many shots at goal.
Regardless of the conditions, Pyke described some of his side's set shot kicking as unacceptable and insisted the side would work hard to rectify any issues as soon as possible.
Five talking points: Adelaide v North Melbourne
"You always worry about [poor kicking bringing you down] but I felt the way the game was being played and the flow of the game, it was coming more into our half and I just felt like eventually that would lead towards goals," he said.
"Clearly we want to kick goals when we can.
"It's a combination of the pressure and some of our set shots were clearly not at the level and we've got to go and do some work on those things.
"Some of it's routine for guys in terms of set shots, some of it's snaps … there were a couple missed tonight where they maybe just didn't get the technique right.
"We do a lot of work on it and we'll continue to do a lot of work on it because it's an area where we've got to do better."
