The Brisbane Lions have named their final squad for this Sunday’s clash against Carlton, with a debutant among the names listed.

Mitch Golby has been elevated from the rookie list and will start at half-back flank, making him the Lions’ eighth debutant for 2011.

Golby was elevated to the senior list yesterday by the Lions.

Golby has shown excellent recent form for the Lions Reserves and will be looking to help lift a back line that is currently without one of its key performers, Vice-Captain Daniel Merrett, who sustained a stress fracture in his back last weekend.

Midfield gun Tom Rockliff returns on the interchange bench after missing the past two weeks with a calf strain, while defender Matt Maguire will fill the fullback position left vacant by Merrett.

Merrett will be joined on the sidelines by midfielder Rohan Bewick and forward Jesse O’Brien, who have both been omitted from this week’s squad and today travelled to Darwin to take on the Northern Thunder tomorrow for the Lions Reserves.
