Brown will take to the microphone for the first time to do a play-by-play commentary during the Western Bulldogs-Geelong clash.
He will call for Crocmedia’s AFL LIVE football broadcast alongside Tristan Foenander and former Hawthorn premiership player Terry Wallace.
Brown said it was something he had wanted to do since he was a young kid.
"I used to love the 12th Man and Billy Birmingham and that sort of stuff, and just growing up I used to put the TV on mute and call games," Brown said.
"I used to call the rugby and pretend I was Ray Warren and do the footy and pretend I was Bruce McAvaney and Dennis Cometti."
While Brown is renowned as one of the toughest men in the AFL, he said he was already a little nervous about the call, which will be broadcast across Australia on 76 stations, as well as streamed on the official AFL app.
"I’m really looking forward to it, but there’s obviously a few little nerves as I’ve obviously never really done it but I can’t wait to get in the box and have a call with the guys," Brown said.
The ex-Hawk said he was first told to make the move into calling by his former premiership teammate Shane Crawford, who has built a hugely-successful media career since his retirement.
"It was probably Crawf four or five years into my career who said I should have a serious think about doing it post-football, and I’ve just kind of taken it from there," he said.
Brown’s call can be heard by clicking on the 'AFL LIVE' logo in the ‘live audio’ section of the AFL app match centre during Saturday night’s game.
