Victoria Country has confirmed its squad for the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships – U18 Boys.

The 32-player squad features players from the six Coates Talent League country programs, being the Bendigo Pioneers, Dandenong Stingrays, Geelong Falcons, Gippsland Power, GWV Rebels and Murray Bushrangers.

Warragul’s Jasper Alger and Koroit’s Finn O’Sullivan, who both play with the Oakleigh Chargers, have also been selected.

Marsh AFL National Academy members and Australia U18 team representatives Archer Day-Wicks, Jonty Faull, Sam Lalor, Harvey Langford, Xavier Lindsay, Noah Mraz and O’Sullivan all feature in the Victoria Country squad.

Murray Bushrangers twin brothers Jack and Matt Whitlock have also been selected. Both represented the Australia U18 team as injury replacements during matches played in April.

Willem Duursma, Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves, Riley Onley and Ben Rongdit have been selected as bottom-age players. Duursma, the younger brother of AFL players Xavier and Zane and AFLW player Yasmin was last year selected in the 2023 AFL National Development Championships – U16 Boys All Australian team.

Victoria Country will commence its campaign this Sunday, June 9 against South Australia in the second match of a double-header at IKON Park. The match will commence at 12:30pm following a clash between Victoria Metro and the Allies

Country will then take on Western Australia in Perth on June 29, before playing against the Allies (July 7) and Victoria Metro (July 14).

Victoria Metro's squad for the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships U18 Boys was announced last month.
