Final squads have been announced to represent Victoria Country and Victoria Metro at the 2024 Marsh AFL National Development Championships – U16 Boys.

The Championships feature a host of the best under-16 boys footballers from across the country, with 10 teams competing across two pools.

Victoria Country and Victoria Metro will both compete in Pool A alongside South Australia and Westen Australia. Victoria Metro are the reigning title holders following last year’s Championships win.

Pool B will comprise six teams, including the Brisbane Lions Academy, Gold Coast Suns Academy, GWS Giants Academy, Northern Territory, Sydney Swans Academy and Tasmania.

Victoria Country and Victoria Metro begin their campaigns when they clash at Sandringham’s Trevor Barker Beach Oval this Saturday, June 8 from 2:30pm AEST.

The final two rounds of the Championships will be played on the Gold Coast from July 8 to 12 during the school holidays.

GWV Rebels boys coach David Loader has been appointed head coach of Victoria Country, while Western Jets head coach Trent Dennis-Lane will steer Victoria Metro.
