THE SIX POINTS
1. Last time the teams met, GWS was within eight points at half-time and two goals at the final change before being overrun.
2. The Cats have won just one match from five interstate trips in 2014, their victory over the Brisbane Lions back in round two. It's their worst record outside Victoria since also finishing 1-4 back in 2005.
3. Both teams are elite tackling outfits. Geelong is ranked first overall with 75.5 tackles per game, while GWS is fifth at 71.5.
4. The Giants remain strong at centre clearances, ranked equal-second with 13.6 per game. The Cats are down in equal-16th with 11.1.
5. Inside 50s have regularly been an issue for GWS and that is again the case this year, sitting 15th with just 48 per game. Geelong is ranked fifth with 52.1.
6. Geelong skipper Joel Selwood is having another mighty year and leads Geelong in the Official AFL Player Ratings at No.3 overall, behind only Gary Ablett and Scott Pendlebury.
Prediction: Geelong by 47 points
