IT WILL take more than an injured foot to keep West Coast Eagles ruckman Dean Cox out of Saturday night's Hall of Fame Tribute Match at the MCG.

The 26-year-old, who has been playing with a broken bone in his foot since round three's derby against Fremantle, believes there's "no chance at all" of him missing the awaited clash.

While a weekend's rest would be a welcome remedy for many injuries, Cox is determined to represent the Dream Team and share the ruck duties with Brisbane Lion Jamie Charman.

"The previous weeks have been challenging, but the best thing about it is it's pulled up better each week as the weeks have progressed," Cox said before training on Wednesday afternoon.

"I'll just do what I have in previous weeks, which is monitor myself throughout the week, but I'll definitely run out Saturday night."

Cox said he wasn't feeling any pressure from West Coast coach John Worsfold to pull out of the match, because he wouldn't risk playing if he felt it would worsen his complaint.

"If the injury was going to get any worse and restrict me from playing next week, I wouldn't play," he said.

"But, the opportunity is here to play with the great players that surround us at the minute and also to remember how the game has come in 150 years to where it is today, with the people that have taken it there.

"To represent that and run out on Saturday night is a fantastic experience for me and the rest of the team."

The All-Australian, who grew up in Western Australia watching State of Origin football, said he couldn't help but feel competitive when looking at the Big V strip.

"We had a bit of a talk about it this morning and all the boys aren't just here to represent the Dream Team; they're here to win," he said.

"I think that's the whole part about it, that once we cross that white line it's going to be on for young and old and we're ready to go."

Cox also said the Dream Team would go about educating Irishman Tadhg Kennelly on just why he should "hate" the Big V, despite the emotions of State of Origin in Australian football being new to him.

"I spoke to him this morning and he's looking forward to playing and being part of a game that has come a long way," he said.

"That's the great thing about it. People are from country WA, NT and people are from Ireland ... it's a complete mix, and one that we're going to jell together and give it a good show."
