The Arden St Redevelopment of the Kangaroos’ home base continues to evolve with designers releasing the latest schematic designs of the facility.

The updated 3D designs reflect the changes to the project since the additional State and Federal Government funding announced recently.

Federal Government Sports Minister, Senator, The Hon George Brandis announced his office would inject $2 million into the project in July.

In August, a further $1.7 million was committed by the Victorian State Government with the addition of the State Fencing Centre to the precinct.

The project will provide the North Melbourne region will an elite facility for community use as well as housing the Kangaroos and Fencing administration and training headquarters.

Kangaroos chairman Graham Duff said the facility is set to be state of the art and at the cutting edge of technology.

“We expect this centre to be the community sports hub of the inner northern suburbs and will give our club a much stronger presence in the community.” Duff said.

Coach Dean Laidley is excited to see the project moving forward.

“It’s going to be great for our footy club and the community, we’re really excited it’s moving forward.” Laidley said.

In excess of $11 million has been committed to the project by the Federal Government, Victorian State Government, Melbourne City Council, the Kangaroos and the AFL.
