Player ratings, finals week two: The hot and the not
We find your hot and cold players ahead of this weekend's semis
Geelong v North Melbourne
Hot: Geelong midfielder Josh Caddy has averaged 14 points over the past month, which ranks him 55th in the competition in that time. North Melbourne's Daniel Wells averages 20.6 points against Geelong – his best against any club and the highest of any current North Melbourne player. He kicked four goals against the Cats in round 19 last season.
Cold: Cats defender Andrew Mackie has averaged just 4.4 points over the last month – his worst four-week block since the start of 2010. North midfielder Ryan Bastinac started the season at a career-high 95th overall but is now 139th overall.
Fremantle v Port Adelaide Hot: Tendai Mzungu was Fremantle’s highest scoring player against the Swans, is No.2 at the club for average points in the last month and currently sits at a career-high 123rd overall. Port skipper Travis Boak has averaged 19.2 points in the last month – second in the competition – and has averaged 19.5 against top-8 teams this year.
Cold: Freo's Paul Duffield has averaged just 6.5 points in the last month, which is 35 per cent down on his output earlier in the year. He has fallen outside the top-250 players overall for the first time since the launch of AFL Player Ratings. Matthew Broadbent was Port Adelaide’s lowest scoring player last weekend. He reached the top-100 midway through last season but has since slipped to 157th.
